I graduated in medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1993 after obtaining an MA in Medical Sciences from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, and after becoming a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1996, took up the first ever officially recognised training post in both orthodox and complementary medicine, working at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital and the Whittington Hospital (specialising in respiratory medicine).

I trained first in homeopathy, becoming a Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1997, and then in Western Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society. In 2006 I qualified in Western Herbal Medicine from the University of East London postgraduate course. I also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Allergy from the University of Southampton.

IN 2004 I was appointed as Consultant Physician at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, part of UCLH NHS Trust. In 2007 I set up the first ever NHS Herbal Medicine service, and run an innovative 'high-volume' acupuncture service using group clinics to deliver frequent, effective treatment for NHS patients. I run the Trust's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Adult Allergy services.
